Day 62 — More Asura, only crappier

Playing with my new Google Nexus 7 and SketchBook Pro. So, another stinker, but that app has so many brushes, so many features! So I'll keep playing. As you were.

Day 61 — Spotty for no reason

Hooo boy. Tank was empty tonight! Maybe tomorrow? You see, I got a Nexus 7 today, and I love it! So a last minute drawing that looks it.

Day 60 — Ping!

I finally watched Disney's Mulan. Not a bad fillum, but didn't really care for the songs. Animation was tip top! Here's some fan art. My back hurts. Another statement for no particular purpose.

This didn't turn out at all good - that horrible face! But I tried from a black background this time, building up to lighter colours, rather than the other way round or a random horrible mishmash that I've be doing up until now.

Tomorrow is another chance not to suck. Words to live by.

Another speed one. The Guild Wars 2 Beta weekend has been great fun! I'll probably be drawing my characters from that a bit more in the future. Especially my Asura thief. She's as cute as a button. But for now, just this.

Day 51 — Don't axe me to stay up late drawing

Just a speed drawing today - the Steam sale is still on, and so obviously the amount of un-played games is going up. Got a lot of work ahead of me! (Sorry)

Day 50 — Rocket to the FUTURE!

I made it to 50!

I only just started my drawing after dinner, so I thought number 50 might end up as a drawing of the number 50. In fact I started with the number 50 that appears as the background. But no, I slaved away over the iPad for many an hour and produced Rocket Girl! Crap, less typing, more posting, because this day is nearly over.

Day 48 — Steve the Swashbuckler

Went for some perspective again. Didn't work as well as I had hoped. And when I do perspective it has to be a swashbuckling pirate type for some reason. Those are the rules.

Day 47 — Steam Sale made me suck!

The Steam Summer Sale made me forget I had to do a drawing! Was killing zombies and being scared witless playing Dead Island. Here's something I did a bit earlier in the evening.

Day 46 — Blue Monster of DOOM

Well, tonight was a case of "crap, this PvP match in RIFT is taking way too long, and I haven't done a drawing today!", so here's a 5 minute blue monster thing, and straight to bed with me because it's a school night!

Adobe Ideas - but stuffed up and reached the layer limit of 10 so did a crap and quick background in Brushes. I'm tired and I want to go to bed!

Day 42 — Hair Today

Didn't realise it was Day 42! Should have gone with a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy theme. I could say it was Trillian. But it ain't. Just hair gone wild, on a long neck. More Brushes shenanigans!

Day 41 — Purple in the Park

More Brushes! And lookit, posting at lunch time, instead of before bed. I like to shake things up*. Anyway, didn't turn out how I expected, but while not satisfied with the final picture, did have a fun time painting it. Trying all the brushes, playing with layers.

*No I don't.

Day 40 — Brushing the Rift

Another one of my Rift character, Aphi, and again, on the iPad. This time I used Brushes though, after seeing a YouTube of concept artist Ian McQue doing one of his awesome flying ships using Brushes.

Brushes has this cool playback feature, only you have to use a Mac app to export it as a video.

Which sucks.

Day 39 — Disco Disco!

Another quick one. Another one I should finish one day.

Day 38 — Red Shorts

A quick Adobe Ideas scribble that actually took way too long. But the shorts are indeed red. So there's that. Everything else, well, there's always tomorrow. I've been doing a drawing a day for 38 days now. Surely I should be able to illustrate some fantasy RPG, draw several titles for Marvel or DC or something.

This is taking too long.

Day 37 — Dr Sketchy's!

Went to a burlesque-ish life drawing thing tonight, called Dr Sketchy's Sins of the Flesh. A life drawer I ain't! It was a very good experience, and something I want to pursue a bit more. They never keep a pose for long enough though! I went through a tonne of paper, so the following blat should make up for lack of a drawing from me last night. Although I think Monkey filled in for me admirably!

(Last night I was upgrading his and her motherboard, cpu, memory and adding a solid state drive to our computers, and I didn't finish the OS re-installation until around 2am. But it's done, and it's fast! Ptchow!)

Day 35 — Simple like a fox

Trying really hard to get a simple cartoony style for eventual (probably not) web-comic-ness. It's hard to break all my habits and try something different. I always go to my safe place when I let my concentration slip (girl with bum prominent, looking over her shoulder, 3/4 profile). Need to do more drawings from reference, or find a life drawing class. Not that that would be terribly cartoony. Just thinking out loud through my fingers.

Day 34 — No Drawing!

Man, not feeling it tonight. Tired. And the lines I'm producing are horrible malformed things that are looking at me all accusing-like. So, let's pretend there was no drawing today, and don't look down.

Day 33 — Crouching Nuddie, Hidden Hands

Yeah, hands are dumb! And it's past my bedtime. I used a (NSFW) photo reference and once more used Adobe Ideas on my iPad. So that happened.

Day 32 — ACT Comic Meet

I went to my first ACT Comic Meet today at the Wig and Pen. Met some very nice people, and some I already knew! And I drew these while I was there. A good day to have achieved over a month of daily drawings so far. Gold stars for everyone!

The first one was pencil, the second in trusty biro.
